THORNHAM ROOMS HAS BEEN A CENTRAL PART OF THORNHAM SINCE THE SIXTEENTH CENTURY.
Over the centuries we’ve been many things – a coach house, an inn, a country pub, a hostelry. Most recently we were a hotel with restaurant, welcoming guests from across the country and abroad to North Norfolk.
Now we have evolved again, becoming Thornham Rooms, exclusively focused on providing truly special rooms for unforgettable stays. We offer you eleven unique bedrooms, each with its own personality and luxury features, for the ideal coastal escape.
Our location in the village of Thornham, right on the North Norfolk coast, shapes so much of what The Chequers is about. The clean sea air, the calm pace of life, the big Norfolk skies and our building itself all contribute to make a stay at Thornham Rooms completely unique.
HISTORY OF
THORNHAM ROOMS
Dating back to the 16th century, the Thornham Rooms has been a feature of Thornham for around 500 years. Over the years it has had many different owners and purposes, before taking the form we see today. It’s easy to spot the history in our special building, from the large fireplace to the exposed wooden beams and lintels.
